The second training module out of the planned six activities under the "Cross-Border Cooperation in Forest Fire Fighting", co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg - IPA CBC Programme between the Republic of Bulgaria - Republic of North Macedonia CCI No. 2014TC16I5CB006., which is implemented by the Association of South-Western Municipalities in partnership with the Center for Development of the South-Eastern Region, Republic of North Macedonia.
ASWM, as the leading partner of the project, hosted the group of over sixty participants in the city of Bansko. In the program, the theory was advocated, and many field activities were also carried out. The speaker of the training was Inspector Plamen Todorov, Fire Safety and Rescue Directorate General, and the paramedic from the Voluntary Formation of the Municipality of Blagoevgrad - "Georgi Izmirliev the Macedonian“, Mr. Vladimir Filkov, captivated the participants with the presentation of the topic "Providing first aid of fire and traffic accident victims".
Volunteers and professional firefighters from the border region also upgraded their knowledge and skills in working with hand-mechanized fire-fighting tools. On the territory of the Regional office "Fire safety and protection of the population“ in Bansko city, they had the opportunity to work with hydraulic tools, simulate providing first aid to road accident victims, and share experiences with each other.
The upcoming program training is already planned, and the topics are even more intriguing for the participants of the target groups.
