Partners from eight countries took part in the fifth international meeting of the AgriGo4Cities project

With this project ASWM promotes urban and peri-urban agriculture and supports local small producers.

Association of South-Western Municipalities hosted the fifth international meeting of the AgriGo4Cities project.

The Association presented to the project partners the implemented activities of the developed local action plan and the results achieved in the field of agriculture in urban and peri-urban environment.

The brand "Local production - Blagoevgrad" and the information activities and events for its introduction were presented.

Sites have been visited to illustrate the trend towards modern forms of social inclusion. Presented was the municipal company “Biostroy” with an accent on the activities on landscaping and creation of flower spots in urban environment; therapeutic winter garden of Zornitsa daycare center for children with disabilities and the established pilot fruit and vegetables garden in Dabrava village that elderly people and children with disabilities planted beds with strawberries, almond trees and other plants. The almond saplings planted were given the names of the children who planted them.

The partners meeting and study visit were implemented in the framework of the project “Urban agriculture for changing cities: governance models for better institutional capacities and social inclusion” with acronym AgriGo4Cities, funded by Interreg Danube Transnational Programme of the European Union.
